Professor Horacio M. Borromeo is the Dean of the W. SyCip Graduate School of Business. From 2004 to 2006, he was the Institute’s director for International Programs, overseeing international academic partnerships. In 2007, he was appointed director for Research, charged with coordinating the development of AIM’s intellectual capital. He had been Associate Dean of the MBM and MM programs from 1986 to 2000. 
Prof. Borromeo’s expertise is in organizational behavior. He teaches the Human Behavior in Organizations and the Management Communication courses in the MBA program. He also teaches regularly in executive education programs. His current research interest is emotional intelligence in organizational communications. 
As a private consultant since the early 1980s, Prof. Borromeo has designed and conducted management development and leadership seminars, and team-building and strategic planning workshops for a wide variety of companies and organizations in the Philippines and throughout the ASEAN region. 
He has also done regional consulting work in Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. In the Philippines, he is an independent director of Stradcom Corp., Stradcom International Holdings, and United Technologies. 
Before joining AIM in 1977, Prof. Borromeo was the president of a Filipino-Japanese joint venture in the manufacture and sale of stringed instruments. He was involved in managing the nationwide operations of a Philippine-Hong Kong joint venture that processed and exported frozen seafood. He also owned and managed a textile dealership and a family-owned handicrafts export firm. 
Prof. Borromeo’s teaching experience extends to foreign institutions. He was a visiting member of the directing staff of the Australian Administrative Staff College (now the Mt. Eliza Business School) in 1982. In 1993, he taught an elective on Total Quality in ASEAN Firms at the University of Southern California. He delivered a case teaching workshop for the Faculty of Economics and Business of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2006. 
Prof. Borromeo obtained his PhD in Organization Development from the Southeast Asia Interdisciplinary Development Institute in 2009. He holds a Master in Management degree from AIM (1977) and a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences degree from the Ateneo de Manila University (1969).
